Communicating Clearly in Writing

The aim of your written work at GSA, whether for a FoCI or HAUS essay or describing your work for studio, is to communicate.

Communication is about sharing knowledge, ideas and experience with others. The root meaning of the verb ‘communicate’ is ‘to share, to make common’. In writing, you are sharing with the reader, and that only works if your writing is clear – if your meaning is easy to understand.
