Individual Study Skills and Mentoring Support

Our Learning Support and Development service includes the opportunity for GSA students to have individual study skills and mentoring appointments with a Learning Support tutor.

At your first meeting we will discuss your learning needs in the context of your course and identify different strategies that may help your learning. Working in collaboration with your Learning Support tutor, we can make a learning plan tailored  to your individual learning needs.

Some students wish to develop particular study related skills such as time management, organisation, academic writing support, public speaking, preparing for assesments or developing language skills. Other students require more mentoring orientated support to check in and monitor how physical and mental wellbeing is impacting on their studies, improve confidence, develop communication strategies, prioritise workload and keep motivation. It may be that a combination of mentoring and study skills support is most appropriate for you.

Our learning and study skills workshops offer you a valuable opportunity to learn with and from other students.
